We finally did it.
We rolled out the first production DeltaRex (10-80M) into the RF.Guru parking lot—not to admire it (okay, maybe a little)—but to see what this beast could do under real-world conditions.
No rope. No flapping wires. This is a solid delta loop system, built from 35 mm stainless aluminum poles, not guyed wire. The top wire isn’t even wire in the traditional sense—it's made from twin FS2 conductors, held in place by 4 cm-wide spacers to create a flat-top ribbon, engineered for extra bandwidth and better current distribution.
So we hooked it up. Sent 25 watts into it.
And?
DX contact to the West Coast USA on 20 meters. -7 dB SNR.
That’s 25W. In a parking lot. Between buildings !
No ground prep. No elevation advantage. Just a rock-solid low-angle radiator doing what it's built for.
Why It Works
The DeltaRex (10-80M) is not an over-compromised antenna. It's about less compromises!
It’s a 3.4 kW-rated, multiband delta loop engineered from the ground up for DX performance:
- Built from 2 6 meter long 2mm thick 35 mm aluminum poles
- Top wire: dual FS2 elements with 4 cm spacing for enhanced bandwidth and current balance
- Efficient geometry with minimal I²R losses
- True low-angle radiation — exactly what you want for transcontinental and transoceanic contacts
Forget the “portable delta loop” gimmicks—this one is made for serious stations.
Will be out in September !
DeltaRex hears the world — and the world hears back.
