Collection: HotSpot

Welcome to the HotSpot & Analog Network Nodes collection ... compact, high-performance solutions for building reliable VHF/UHF links.

This collection includes ready-to-run hotspots and SA-8X8 based miniature FM transceivers that can serve as the RF front-end for popular analog voice networks, linking projects, and packet applications.

* Currently, we only provide a ready-to-use SVXLink (Debian Bookworm) image for SVXLink and EchoLink.

* DMR & AllStarLink devices are on our wish list

Common use cases
  • SVXLink nodes ... ideal for standalone analog nodes (hotspot), remote receivers, and RF-to-IP linking.
  • Simplex repeaters ... combine an FM transceiver module with controller logic (hangtime, ID, tail, courtesy tone) for a compact “carry-and-go” repeater.
  • APRS / AX.25 packet ... use Dire Wolf (software TNC / softmodem) to do AX.25 over audio (AFSK), enabling APRS iGate/digi-style experiments and telemetry beacons.

Our designs focus on reliability, portability, and excellent RF behavior ... perfect for home nodes, mobile deployments, emergency comms, field events, and permanent installations where you just want it to run.

Whether you’re deploying a plug-and-play SVXLink hotspot today, or building a custom EchoLink / simplex-repeater / Dire Wolf packet project, you’ll find high-quality, easy-to-integrate hardware here.
