The Bourns® Model 1977-50-A01 High Frequency Coaxial Surge Protective Device (SPD) is engineered to safeguard antennas, broadband, microwave, GPS, cellular, and CATV systems from surges induced by lightning and other electrical transients. Utilizing gas discharge tube (GDT) technology, this heavy-duty, bidirectional SPD offers a flat response across a frequency range of DC to 4 GHz.
Key features include:
- Frequency Range: DC to 4 GHz
- DC Turn-On (Breakdown Voltage): 400-600 V
- Insertion Loss: ≤0.2 dB
- Return Loss: ≥20 dB
- Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR): <1.2:1
- Peak Pulse Current (8/20 µs waveform): 20 kA
- Maximum Power Handling: 780 W
- Maximum Current: 10 A
- Impedance: 50 ohms
The device features N-type male to female connectors and offers three grounding options: M6 screw, bulkhead, and bracket. It is designed for series (bidirectional) connection and is water-resistant with an IP65 environmental rating. The operating temperature ranges from -50 °C to +85 °C, and it can function at altitudes up to 13,000 feet (4,000 meters). The SPD is RoHS compliant and UL listed (File: E360007).
This SPD is particularly suitable for applications such as multi-point radio and backhaul bridges, tower-mounted amplifiers, antenna systems, tower-top electronics, transmitters and receivers, WiFi, and WiMax broadband wireless systems.
