This compact 4G LTE Analog HotSpot combines our proven UHF hotspot platform with an integrated SIM7600G-H 4G LTE modem, making it ideal for portable, vehicle, emergency, travel, backup, or remote installations where fixed internet or local Wi-Fi is inconvenient or simply unavailable.
It is built on our 4th generation Analog HotSpot hardware platform, with improved DC filtering, cleaner RF behavior, stronger thermal performance, and a precision-machined red aluminum body with black aluminum base. This model is available only in UHF and only with a red aluminum body and black aluminum base.
The hotspot runs smoothly as an SVXLink / EchoLink analog hotspot and is designed for dependable mobile connectivity in the field. The integrated 4G modem supports up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, which is far more than needed for stable analog hotspot traffic. It also works smoothly with alwaysconnected.eu.Currently only an SVXLink Bookworm image is available for SVXLink and EchoLink.
Why Built-In 4G Matters
- No dependency on local Wi-Fi — ideal when the hotspot is used outside the home or at remote sites.
- Integrated LTE connectivity — the SIM7600G-H keeps the unit connected without needing a separate external router.
- More than enough bandwidth — up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink is comfortably beyond what an analog hotspot needs.
- Field-friendly deployment — useful for temporary stations, mobile operation, backup links, and out-of-coverage areas.
- alwaysconnected.eu ready — works smoothly with https://alwaysconnected.eu/.
- Free Bluetooth companion app — control and manage the hotspot from Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, or iPad using the optional SVXLink Hotspot Companion App.
4th Generation Hardware Platform
- Improved DC filtering — additional LC filtering stages reduce ripple and supply-borne noise.
- Enhanced thermal design — the aluminum body and base help dissipate heat during continuous-duty use.
- Cleaner RF chain — stable transmit behavior with excellent spectral cleanliness.
- Robust mechanical construction — compact, durable, and better suited to portable and installed use.
- Proven hotspot architecture — based on the same analog hotspot family already used for SVXLink and EchoLink deployments.
SA818S or SA818PRO: Your Choice
This product can be supplied with either the SA818S or the newer SA818PRO module, depending on your preferred use case.
| Module | Advantages | Limitations |
|---|---|---|
| SA818S | The internal audio filters and pre/de-emphasis can be disabled. This is useful when you want to detect CTCSS in software or experiment with a less processed audio path. | No firmware upgrade capability. |
| SA818PRO | Newer platform, firmware-upgradable over UART, and our preferred choice for normal hotspot, EchoLink, SVXLink, APRS, Winlink/packet, and general analog transceiver use. Hardware CTCSS/CDCSS generation and detection on the module itself works flawlessly. | The internal audio filters and pre/de-emphasis cannot be disabled, so software CTCSS detection from the audio output is less suitable. |
Our recommendation: For most users we prefer the SA818PRO, because it is the newer and firmware-upgradable platform. Hardware CTCSS/CDCSS works flawlessly on this chip. However, users who specifically need software CTCSS detection or audio-filter bypass can choose the SA818S version instead.

Power Supply and Filtering
The 4G LTE Analog HotSpot is powered from a standard 5 V micro-USB input. In idle, the unit typically consumes less than 3 W. During transmission, power consumption remains below 8 W.
For the cleanest installation, we recommend using our CM-DM USB power filter together with a short 15 cm USB cable. Any decent USB-C power supply with sufficient current capability will work well, provided the cable and filtering are suitable for RF use.
Recommended Power Setup
- Input voltage — 5 V via micro-USB.
- Idle consumption — less than 3 W.
- Transmit consumption — less than 8 W.
- Recommended filtering — RF.Guru CM-DM USB power filter.
- Recommended cable — short 15 cm USB cable to reduce unwanted pickup and cable-borne noise.
- Power supply — any decent USB-C power supply with enough current capability is suitable.
UHF RF Measurements
All measurements in this section apply to the UHF RF platform used in this product.
Sensitivity Measurements
The 12 dB SINAD sensitivity was determined using a 1 kHz tone FM-modulated at a 2.5 kHz deviation and injected into the receiver. This gives a realistic view of actual receive performance under standard SINAD measurement conditions.
RF Cleanliness
Measured with a calibrated setup and 36 dB attenuator, the UHF RF chain shows very clean output behavior. Worst-case harmonic level is −63.56 dBc and the spectrum confirms excellent suppression of unwanted products inside and outside the occupied channel.
These measurements reflect the UHF hardware platform used for this model.
