The DeltaXtrm20 is engineered as a no-compromise 20-meter monoband antenna, purpose-built for serious DX operators. With its full-wave 120° bottom-fed delta loop geometry, it delivers ultra-low takeoff angles from modest heights, outperforming traditional verticals without the complexity of ground radials.

Key Features

  • Optimized for DX: No NVIS or short-skip performance; designed specifically for long-haul, low-angle contacts
  • Full-wave 120° delta geometry, bottom-fed
  • Mounting height: 6 meters AGL (top wire ~11m wide, 5m high)
  • 9kW power rating, CCS
  • Built with 35mm diameter, 2mm thick marine-grade aluminum sloping legs
  • Top wire: dual-wire spaced at 4cm using dielectric spacers for stability
  • Rigid 3mm RVS mounting plate with integrated 1:1 common-mode choke
  • Included: ultra-low-loss 75 Ω monoband impedance transformer → direct 50 Ω feed, plug & play
  • Mounts on a solid 6m mast, no guy wires needed (or use our optional BlastFrame for freestanding deployment)

Radiation Performance

  • Takeoff angle: ~16° at 6m feedpoint height
  • Gain vs Ground-mounted 1/4 wave vertical: +2 to +3 dB, no radial losses
  • Gain vs Raised 1/4 wave vertical (6m high): +1 to +1.5 dB, similar angle, but better efficiency
  • No ground loss or radial field needed
  • Radiation is omnidirectional in azimuth, with slight shaping due to the triangle plane. It behaves largely like a vertical with slight lobes, not truly directional

Noise Considerations
Because the DeltaXtrm20 is vertically polarized and mounted above ground, it will pick up more common-mode (CM) noise than a ground-mounted vertical. However, the integrated 1:1 choke and clean loop geometry help suppress most noise coupling. Expect slightly higher background noise than a vertical, but significantly stronger signals on low-angle DX paths.

Installation

  • Mounts on a solid 6m pole, no guying needed
  • Optional support: BlastFrame A-frame base for portable/freestanding use
  • No tuner, no radials, no grounding system needed
  • Mount at 6m, connect your coax, and go

DeltaXtrm20: For operators who want maximum DX performance from modest height without the compromises of verticals or the complexity of directional beams.
