DeltaRex — Metric Drill and Threading Bit Kit
The DeltaRex — Metric Drill and Threading Bit Kit is a small, purpose-built tool pack for the DeltaRex DIY assembly step where you drill and thread the two side radiator tubes to mount the supplied RVS eyelets/hardware.
Included (4-piece kit):
• 4.2 mm HSS drill bit (prep for M5)
• 5.2 mm HSS drill bit (prep for M6, per DeltaRex DIY guide)
• M5 metric threading tap (drill-driven)
• M6 metric threading tap (drill-driven)
These threading taps are intended to be used in a drill/driver (slow speed, controlled torque) rather than a hand tap wrench. Always start the tap perfectly square and use cutting fluid.
Tip: In thin-wall aluminum, go slow, apply steady pressure, and back out regularly to clear chips. Deburr the hole before threading.

How to Use (Quick Guide)
Recommended workflow:
1) Mark and center punch the hole location.
2) Drill to size (go slow, use cutting fluid).
3) Deburr both sides of the hole.
4) Thread using the drill-driven tap at low RPM with controlled torque: keep it square, advance slowly, back off to clear chips.
5) Clean chips, test-fit the hardware, then mount the eyelet/hardware.
Safety: wear eye protection. Chips from aluminum and stainless hardware are sharp.
Mini-FAQ
- Is this only for the US? — No. It’s for US or EU builders who don’t already have the correct metric drill sizes and drill-driven threading taps.
- Do I need a tap wrench? — No. These taps are intended for use in a drill/driver at low speed with controlled torque.
- Why 4.2 mm and 5.2 mm? — 4.2 mm is the standard prep drill for M5. The 5.2 mm size matches the DeltaRex DIY drilling instruction set for the M6 step.
