RF.Guru MonoBand HT Antenna (Cut-to-Frequency)

Cut it, cap it, and you’re on-frequency.
These cut-to-frequency handheld antennas are built for users who want a clean, predictable match on a specific channel or ham segment without fiddling with tuning screws or fragile telescopic whips. You simply trim to length using the included cutting guide, seal the tip, and the antenna is ready to work.

Product mapping:
RF.Guru MonoBand HT 2M = GRA-CFQ10 (VHF cut-to-frequency)
RF.Guru MonoBand HT 70CM = GRA-CFQ40 (UHF cut-to-frequency)

Perfect Match for RF.Guru Hotspots

These monoband HT antennas are an excellent fit for compact RF setups and fixed-frequency use cases, including RF.Guru hotspots. If you want a tidy, on-frequency antenna for your indoor gateway or bench setup, this is a simple upgrade.

Why Cut-to-Frequency?

  • Fast, repeatable tuning ... no set screws, no guessing
  • Optimized performance on your frequency ... better match, more consistent results
  • Wide practical bandwidth ... small trimming errors usually stay “good enough”
  • Rugged flexible build ... ideal for field use, go-kits, and daily carry
  • Multiple connector options ... choose what fits your radio

* Best practice: cut slightly long first, then trim in small steps to your target length.

How It Works

  • Use the frequency cutting guide to find the correct trim length for your target frequency.
  • Trim the antenna carefully at the marked length.
  • Seal the tip using the included rubber cap ... apply rubber cement or instant adhesive to secure and protect the end.
  • Start using your custom antenna ... no additional tuning hardware required.

* You can verify with an antenna analyzer if you want a “perfect” cut, but the trimming chart is designed for quick field results.

Choose Your Band

  • RF.Guru MonoBand HT 2M (VHF) ... cut-to-frequency coverage: 135–174 MHz
  • RF.Guru MonoBand HT 70CM (UHF) ... cut-to-frequency coverage: 370–470 MHz

* Always operate within your license privileges and local band plans.

Durable Construction

  • Internal loading coil: pure copper for low loss and solid conductivity
  • Flexible whip format: practical for handhelds, go-bags, and everyday use
  • Protective tip cap: included ... seals the cut end against wear and moisture

Mini-FAQ

  • Do I need an antenna analyzer? — Not required. Use the cutting chart for quick results. An analyzer helps if you want maximum precision.
  • What if I cut it too short? — You can’t “add length back.” Cut slightly long, then trim down in small steps.
  • Is it wideband? — It’s optimized by cutting for a target frequency, but it has practical bandwidth that tolerates small trimming errors.
  • Which version do I need? — Choose MonoBand HT 2M for VHF (135–174 MHz) and MonoBand HT 70CM for UHF (370–470 MHz).
  • Will it work with RF.Guru hotspots? — Yes. It’s a great compact antenna option for hotspot/gateway installs. See the blue box above for the hotspot collection link.
