The SolidDelta is a premium monoband delta loop antenna built for serious HF operators looking for efficient, low-angle performance without the complexity of ground radials or tuners. Designed for the 6m, 10m, 12m, 15m, and 17m bands, this antenna uses marine-grade materials and precision geometry for maximum performance.
Engineered Performance
The SolidDelta is constructed from 35mm x 2mm thick marine-grade aluminum tubing. At the top, a 4cm spaced parallel wire (2mm) segment minimizes I²R losses while increasing bandwidth. With a carefully tuned 61° vertex angle, the antenna presents a natural 50-ohm impedance at resonance, eliminating the need for transformers or matching devices.

Compared to Verticals
Unlike traditional 1/4-wave verticals, which demand an extensive radial field, or 5/8-wave verticals, which require tuning and can exhibit undesirable high-angle lobes, the SolidDelta delivers a clean, symmetric pattern with consistent low-angle radiation. This makes it a superb option for long-haul DX while still maintaining strong performance for short skip contacts.
Also Ideal for Short Skip
The SolidDelta is especially well-suited for short skip operation, thanks to its broad azimuth coverage and mid-angle radiation when mounted at modest apex heights. Unlike V dipoles, which have strong nulls off the ends, or verticals with narrow low-angle lobes, the SolidDelta provides an almost omnidirectional pattern at typical short skip angles—making it a superior choice for regional communication. The loop performs exceptionally well when tuned to ideal heights for either short skip or DX, with strong mid- and low-angle lobes depending on deployment.
