EFHW Inverted L

The EFHW Inverted L configuration offers outstanding performance on both DX and NVIS contacts by combining the best of both worlds: a vertical section for low-angle radiation (DX) and a horizontal section for high-angle coverage (NVIS). On 160/80 and 80/40 meters, this layout ensures efficient current distribution and excellent omnidirectional performance.

With a properly elevated vertical portion, you gain the low-angle launch critical for long-distance DX. Meanwhile, the horizontal wire supports near-vertical incidence, perfect for regional communication. Unlike shortened or base-loaded verticals, the EFHW Inverted L provides real-world efficiency without the need for radials, thanks to our optimized 68:1 and 70:1 matching transformers.
