EchoTriad is currently in the development & testing phase. Planned public release: 2026. Designed for the 30 m – 10 m bands.
EchoTriad — Triple-Element Active HF Receive Array
EchoTriad is a next-generation 3-element active receive array built for serious HF DXers. It delivers six simultaneous directional beams across the 30 m to 10 m bands, offering deep nulls, strong RDF, and ultra-low noise reception. This first production version focuses exclusively on the high HF region.
Six live beams at once, no relay switching, CAT5 control, and independent RG6 power feeds.
Main Features
- Equilateral 3-element active array geometry
- Six simultaneous beams (no switching or relays)
- Optimized for 30 m, 20 m, 17 m, 15 m, 12 m, and 10 m
- Outdoor feeder/control box (CAT5 control only)
- Independent RG6 power feed for each EchoTracer
- Indoor PhaseBoard with six simultaneous outputs
- Ultra-low noise front-end and wideband response
How EchoTriad Works
EchoTriad uses a single outdoor feeder box that is controlled over a fully choked CAT5 line. The CAT5 carries control signals only. Power for each probe is supplied independently over RG6 coax using F-connectors, ensuring clean, isolated delivery for all three active sensors.
The feeder box drives and synchronizes three EchoTracer elements arranged in an equilateral triangle, maintaining phase coherence across the entire array.
Inside the shack, a single RF output from the feeder box goes into the EchoTriad PhaseBoard. The PhaseBoard generates six unique directional beams simultaneously — no switching, no timing pulses, and zero relay noise. All six outputs are live, allowing multiple receivers or diversity systems to monitor all directions in parallel.
The architecture also enables future integration with a 6-port SDR system for automatic direction scoring, strongest-signal selection, or advanced diversity without any mechanical switching.
Package Includes
- 1 × EchoTriad outdoor feeder/control box (prototype; final enclosure TBA)
- 1 × EchoTriad PhaseBoard with six simultaneous outputs
- Mounting hardware (outdoor rated)
Note: EchoTracers are sold separately. CAT5 and RG6 cables must also be purchased separately.
