NoTenna2 — 2 W SMA Terminator / Dummy Load for RF.Guru HotSpots & Transceivers

NoTenna2 is a compact 50 Ω SMA terminator packaged in a custom enclosure so it fits both past and current RF.Guru HotSpot and transceiver products. It turns your device into a “no antenna” setup for testing, bench work, demos, and promotion… without putting RF on the air.

Power note for our 500 mW devices:
A 500 mW output equals 0.5 W dissipated in the NoTenna2. That’s 25% of the 2 W rating (a 4× margin), which is exactly why this part is a solid match for our 500 mW HotSpot/transceiver products. As with any dummy load, the energy becomes heat… the enclosure may warm up during long key-down tests.

What it’s for

  • Safe on-air demos: run a HotSpot/transceiver without an antenna attached (only negligible leakage).
  • Bench testing: verify TX power, modulation, and stability without radiating a signal.
  • Travel / hotel / apartment use: keep RF contained when you don’t want coverage beyond your immediate area.
  • Terminator use: a proper 50 Ω termination for SMA RF ports during tests.

Key electrical specs

Parameter Specification
Impedance 50 Ω
Frequency range 0–18 GHz
VSWR 1.3 max
Power rating 2 W

Build & durability

  • Materials: gold-plated brass body/contact/shell; PTFE insulator.
  • Mating durability: 500 cycles minimum.
  • Temperature range: −65 °C to +165 °C.

Usage guidance

  • Use NoTenna2 when you want minimal RF radiation while keeping the device fully operational.
  • Stay within the 2 W rating, and avoid extended continuous carrier at higher power levels.
  • This is a dummy load / terminator, not a matching device… it won’t “tune” a bad antenna.

Mini-FAQ

  • Does it reduce my 500 mW to a lower RF output? It prevents radiation by absorbing the RF into a 50 Ω load… your 500 mW becomes about 0.5 W of heat in the dummy load.
  • Is it only for UHF? It’s a broadband 50 Ω termination specified up to 18 GHz, so it’s suitable far beyond typical ham bands.
  • Can I use it as a “terminator” for test gear? Yes… it’s a proper 50 Ω SMA terminator plug.
  • Will it get warm? With long transmissions it can… that’s normal for any dummy load dissipating power.
